Travel: Yarmouth, NS

One of my best friends lives in the cute little town of Yarmouth, NS. When we finally graduated and had some time to spare, I made it down to visit her for the grande tour. I was shown every inch there is to cover of the town. We visited Acadian sites, pretty places and the lighthouse. I have a secret little soft spot for lighthouses so that was like the icing on the cake. I was shown great hospitality and had an awesome mini-vacation on the South Shore.

Oh and those windmills. Wiiinnnddddmills. Love.

Baby: Finley

Finley is one of the happiest, sweetest babies on Earth. She has been very laid back and content ever since the first day we met. As she grows, her smile continues to be infectious to everyone around her. I predict she will be someone who helps others find joy in the journey just by being her happy, kind, adorable self.

Portrait: Jennifer

It means so much to me when anyone comes to visit me, even if they are a local from around town. My friend Jennifer is definitely not a local though and she travelled all the way from Washington State with her cute little baby to visit me and my family in {February 2011}. It meant so much to have her come and we had a lot of fun. Even though her luggage totally got lost for a couple days, she was all smiles and embraced Canada to the fullest. She's a natural when it comes to looking good infront of the camera! Take a look for yourself.

Personal: Sunday Best

It's a shame these photos don't want to go larger but it's late and it's the best I've got tonight. After accidentally coordinating for church one Sunday, it only seemed fit to take some pictures. You'd never guess it was extremely windy while we took these but we managed. It wasn't until we ran back to the car that we realized how cold we really were from that cold wind pushing us around. However for a 5 minute modelling career, it was worth it :)

Couples: Eric + Kat

A couple friends of mine came home Christmas of 2010 and got engaged. I was honored to help Eric plan his engagement {just with restaurant ideas and adding my two cents about proper proposals} and then to see the two of them at church on Sunday with Kat sporting some new jewelry. Naturally I dragged them outside to take a couple proper photos as a newly engaged couple. Considering I was just using a point and shoot camera, I was really happy with the picture of her ring. Congrats you two!

Personal: Peggy's Cove

I have friends in my life I think of as "bittersweet" friends. My friend Justine falls in that category because we didn't really get to know her until right before she moved back out west. Fortunately, I followed her footsteps about 6 months later but at the time I was sad to see her go knowing what a great friend she became in a short time. The day before she left she still hadn't been to Peggy's Cove so after visiting Santa at the mall {for free treats of course} we bundled up and embraced the cove. It was a crisp, chilly winter day but the fun we had made up for the cool temperatures. I could at least handle Justine leaving a little better knowing she had been there. Hopefully she makes it back someday when the weather is warmer. It's great any time of year!

Family: O'Hearon

Meet my brother and his three gorgeous girls. This was the twins first Thanksgiving and our family was beyond grateful to have them there. They had a rough start in 2010 but were chunky little turkies by the time this holiday rolled in. Looking at the love and happiness in these photos makes me extra grateful for the strength and support families are to each other. Look at my brother and his wife, surely his kids are raised out of love. It's about time he was outnumbered too. He needs all those women around to keep him in line. I love this family lots!

Personal: Pumpkin Carving

Aside from photography, a huge passion in my life is my love for holidays. I love the decorations, the anticipation and all the fun activities and traditions that are associated with them. Pumpkin carving is a classic must-always-do tradition in my house even if it means doing it myself. Fortunately in {October 2010} my nieces and nephews along with my sister were more then willing to join in and we had a great time making these creations. My favorite part was definitely drilling all the holes in my small pumpkin. Picking a small pumpkin has been a tradition between my Mom and I since I was young. She always let me have one for as long as I remember, except these year I made it look cool opposed to letting it rot.

Travel: Washington Sky

{July 2010}

Washington State has some brilliant sunsets. As if the green all around you doesn't remind you how great it is to be alive, the sun and it's illuminating rays will knock your socks off. The only place I want to be when the sun is setting is in the backyard, where I can enjoy every last second of it. Preferred seating: definitely the hammock

Travel: Tremonton, Utah

It seems hard for me to stay in one place for more than a month. I am a travel-bug by heart and as long as the funds are there to do so, I'll go anywhere from a small road trip to an adventure far away on a plane {granted I've only made it as far as Hawaii to this point} Tremonton, Utah is a little town many probably haven't heard of but it's got so much unique beauty to discover. There is a small river that runs behind many of the houses and when I was visiting this town, I couldn't soak up enough of the railroad tracks and big blue skies. I'm confident this little town is one of Utah's hidden treasures and I hope it stays that way. I don't ever want it to lose it's rustic, old fashioned feel.

Children: Miss G turns three

Georgia Marie is one sweet little trouble maker but our family wouldn't have her any other way. On her third birthday we couldn't resist capturing her in all her glory. She looked so pretty and still stayed true to herself, shoving cake in her face when she thought nobody was watching {who needs a spoon} Got ya pretty little lady!

{May 2010}

Personal: My Ring

Once upon a time I was engaged back in 2010. My sweet boy let me pick out my own ring because heaven-forbid he get the wrong one. I'm a pretty indecisive and picky girl at times so it was wise on his part. I was happy to have the man and ring I dreamed of and he was grateful to have one happy little fiance. It sure was fun watching this ring sparkle in the sunshine!

{Nothing quite like capturing a beautiful moment with a point-and-shoot camera}

Personal: Portland Temple

{April 2010}

The Portland Temple is such a beautiful House of the Lord to visit. I love the appearance of it, both outside and from what I've seen inside but I also love just walking around on the grounds. In April, the temple is surrounded by pink trees and fresh flowers that are what I imagine heaven to smell like. It is heavenly all around you. There is nothing sweeter then stealing a kiss from someone you love while on these grounds. I speak from experience :)

Children: Nelson

The Nelson kids are some of my favorite kids on Earth. It helps that they were my first nieces and nephews {I was busy holding the youngest one while the first two pictures were taken} and they are cute to boot! My eldest niece Jessica was born when I was barely 12 years old and she has grown up with a camera in her face, as have all the others. It's no wonder these kids have beautiful smiles. I could take pictures of them all day.

Welcome

I have always loved to take photos. It has been a passion of mine since I got my first film camera back in seventh grade. Even before then, all through elementary school anytime I could get my hands on a disposable camera I would be taking pictures. There is so much joy and so many wonderful memories to be captured in a photo. To say "a picture is worth a thousand words" is truly an understatement as a picture can tell a story, capture a moment of someones beauty or take your breath away in a way you never thought possible. I love to take pictures of a variety of things. As much as I would love to pick one focus I have a passion for love, for my family, for being outside, for adventures and for the experiences life can offer. I want to capture it all. When I'm 100 years old and my memory has long since left me {because it's already on it's way!} I want to look back and smile at my life, remembering moments because of how they were captured. I want to share my life in a way it can be seen generations from now. I want to help other's pass their tale on through the years and pictures are the perfect way to do that. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoy what you see.
